Dr. Fan Chen received his Ph.D. training from Ehime University, Japan. In 2001, he became a professor at the IGDB, CAS. Dr. Chen’s laboratory mainly focuses on plant molecular response and control mechanism. The signal transduction during plant development is concerned. In particular, his lab uses Arabidopsis and rice as model organisms and tries to elucidate the molecular control and hormonal responses under different environment stress. His lab also aims to identity most of genes that are involved in the lateral meristem morphogenesis, and to define the molecular mechanisms and genetic networks involved in rice traits, especially in different spike types, rice tillering. The high-through omics and genetics analysis were used to construct the network of gene expression and regulation in higher plant.
